Fisher-Price Spike the Ultra Dinosaur Review

imageNow Fisher-Price Spike the Ultra Dinosaur a hit in my house already and it isn't even here. Every time we see this toy in the store, the kids go wild.  Who ever thought you would have your own dinosaur to control .

You can look at the picture to the left to get an idea how big this thing is.

It has pretty simple controls for the little ones, but should provide lots of enjoyment for them.

This dinosaur will walk forward, turn left and right, open its mouth, blink its eyes, stand on its hind legs and even throw a boulder.

And, Fisher-Price Spike the Ultra Dinosaur makes lots of ferocious sounds too. What dinosaur wouldn't?

From looking around the Internet, Fisher-Price Spike the Ultra Dinosaur is getting pretty good reviews.  Many parents seem to be pretty impressed with it despite its high price tag. Fisher-Price Spike the Ultra Dinosaur retails for around $130 give or take.

Fisher-Price Smart Cycle Review

imageThe Fisher-Price Smart Cycle is a learning toy that will be high on people's lists this Christmas season. But, the really cool thing about this toy is that not only does it integrated education into play, but it also involves physical activity. The kids can play their video games, learn and break a sweat. Can't beat that! May even burn off some of that energy that kids have so we can keep up with them

Setup is pretty simple for anyone and should take you less than 15 minutes. The only connection you will have to worry about is the one from the bike to the television. The toy is powered by D batteries. One flaw for me is that it does not have the ability to use AC power from the home.

The age range on this bike 3 years to 6 years. That is a fair assessment as my kids were able to pick up on this toy pretty easy. The directions provided by the on-screen narrator were easy for the kids to follow and they did not need much guidance from me.

Another good thing about this toy is the ability to purchase more software so your kids can learn more or go on more adventures on their Smart Cycle. Fisher-Price has several titles out based on many of your kids favorite characters.

PixOs Super Studio Creation Station Review

imageMy kids have been bugging me about the PixOs Super Studio Creation Station every since they first saw it on television. I swear that they have some kind of minority ownership in Nickelodeon and the Disney Channel because this toy is on there almost every break.

We really like to get our kids toys that spark imagination and creativity, and I would have to say this one does that. It lets them build anything under the sun using a multitude of colors. You will also have the ability to purchase more beads once you are out to keep on creating masterpieces.

Basically, you will have this pen that you load up with beads and you will dispense them into these trays forming your design. When complete, you will spray it with water and the beads will stick together forming your creation.

I have read where some people are disappointed because the beads do not stick together as quickly as indicated in the commercials and in the instructions. Some even mentioned it taking overnight.

Hasbro FurReal Biscuit My Lovin Pup Review

imageThe Hasbro FurReal Biscuit My Lovin Pup has been getting alot of buzz on the Internet as being a popular toy for Christmas 2008.

Honestly, the first thing I notice about this toy is the price tag! It retails for over $150.

I did check this toy out at the toy store and I do have to say it is pretty neat for a toy. It has many lifelike features and mannerisms of a real pup and makes alot of sound that respond to your interaction. This dog will sit, lie down, sit up, beg and speak all without the mess of house training.

I read some reviews at wal-mart.com and many parents were raving about what a great toy it is. Most of them were talking about how they can't have pets due to allergies, restrictions, etc and this toy made a good substitute.

Being a dog lover myself, there is no substitute for the real thing in my eyes. But, I think this is a fabulous alternative for kid that wants a furry buddy.

Here are some more details about the toy from Wal-Mart's website:

Fisher Price Elmo Live Review

imageOnce again the furry, red Elmo from Sesame Street fame has graced our top toys of Christmas lists. It seems that the cuddly little Elmo has caused many sleepless nights for parents as they search high and low for the latest Elmo craze.

This year's version is called Elmo Live and it promises to be the best yet.

This version of Elmo is supposed to look as though his mouth is actually moving to the phrases he is speaking. He waves his hands in the air, sits and stands and even crosses his legs as he tells jokes and stories.

Elmo Live can be ordered from Walmart.com for $58.88 and does qualify for their $.97 shipping special.

My kids have always gotten a kick out of the Elmo dolls, but I feel they may be too old for these now. However, I am sure this will still be a popular toy. Furthermore, as the supply in the retail stores dwindle, I feel another eBay gouging on as people swipe them up and try to make a profit at the auction site.

Bring in the Toys - The Top of Christmas 2008

imageI could not think of a better place to start tracking online deals for Christmas than with toys. Toys are what make all of the parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles scramble to find that hard to find toy for junior. Toys probably create the most demand, joy and stress during the holiday season. And, for some it is almost a point of pride to be able to say "I got the IT toy for my kid this Christmas"

I will spend the next few days going over some of the some of the toys creating buzz on the Internet for being the most demanded. From my initial research I have compiled a list. I will be going over each one in separate posts to give you a more detailed view of it and what I think of it. Plus, as always, I will help you locate it at some of the discount retail sites I frequent.

Wal-Mart $.97 Shipping On Select Categories

image I was looking at the Wal-Mart site today and noticed that they are offering $.97 shipping on selected categories. The ones that I found it in were:

  • Apparel
  • Toys
  • Baby

For online shoppers, shipping has always been one of the negatives to buying things on the Internet. However, for $.97 you really can't beat it. You are getting Wal-Mart's already low price, and you can find some of their online specials that are only available on the Internet.

Just visit http://www.walmart.com to get more information. You will see it directly on their home page.

The Overhaul!

image Well, Christmas 2008 is upon us, and I decided to revamp the website. This site has gone through some changes since it began and I never really knew how I wanted to take it.

This is the format I hope to take with this website:

I want to take products that are getting a buzz on the Internet and review the product. I also want to help you find some places to find the deals online.

My favorite places online to find deals are Overstock.com, Wal-Mart.com, Amazon.com and eBay.com. So, those are the places I will probably go to first. However, this is an interactive website. If you find something at another place, be sure to let us know about it by commenting.

Lastly, if there is a specific product you know about that is gaining some buzz, then contact us and let us know what you would like reviewed.
