OK. We know times are tough. The Worldwide economy is in the toilet. The housing market is on the brink of destruction. Major U.S. companies are needing bailouts left and right. Wars are being fought overseas, and no matter what side you fall on supporting that, we miss our soldiers. That goes for any country that has soldiers abroad.

But, this is the best time of year, and it doesn't have to be because of that new GPS we want for our car or the piles of toys our kids will buy. Sure, those are great, but this time of year has so many more meanings for people than just gift buying.

So, lets take a step off that path for a minute and lets talk about what we want for the holidays that doesn't have a monetary value to it? Something hand made? Someone to come home? Better health? You name it. Just leave a comment below. I look forward to seeing all of these.

The Dark Knight BluRay and DVD

Batman Begins on Blu-Ray and DVD is now out. This is probably one of my favorite movies of the year. It helps that I like this sort of movie, but I know many people agree with me.

We all know about the passing of Heath Ledger and how he put such a stamp on this movie. I have to say he was great in this movie.

Amazon is running a deal if you buy The Dark Knight on BluRay or DVD you will also receive the direct download for free. Meaning you can watch it on your laptop or computer before your disk arrives.

Well it took a little longer than I had hoped, but I think I am done with the reviews of the hot toys for Christmas. I have had many visitors to the blog regarding the toys and I appreciate the response.

The Playskool Kota My Triceratops Dinosaur is life-size baby dinosaur for your child to go crazy with.

This fabulous toy interacts with your child on many levels. It responds to voice, feeding and petting. He even plays music and laughs when his belly is rubbed.

Kids bugging you for a pony for Christmas or their birthday? Don't know if your neighbors will like one running around in the backyard?

Well, the Giddyup n Go Pony may be a solution. DealRocket decided to add this one to our list because of the buzz it has been getting on the Internet.

Your kids get to bounce up and down on this horse, rather than your back, and the thing actually moves its legs and your kid across the floor when this happens. It also makes sounds while being ridden and swings its tail.

The Giddyup n Go Pony has been getting stellar reviews on the Internet. The only complaint I found was the price tag is a bit high. But, for this type of toy it falls in line with the others in this category.

The Fisher-Price Kid-Tough Digital Camera is one of the better ideas to hit the market this year. Every time I pull out the camera to take pictures at events, my kids bombard me with requests to be able to take pictures. I am kind of leery to hand over the camera to them for fear of it being dropped or broken accidentally.

Fisher-Price has come up with a solution with these sturdy cameras for little kids. As you can see from the photos, they come in pink and blue for the little boy or girl in your life.

This is not a pretend camera! The Fisher-Price Waterproof Digital Camera is a real working camera. It has two eye viewing for them to be able to look through the view finder with both eyes. And, it has big hand grips and big buttons that makes it easy for them to use.

And, the kids favorite part: It has a nice LCD screen for them to view the pictures they took. I know that is my kids favorite part!

The camera is getting favorable reviews across the Internet. The biggest complaint is that it uses batteries fast, but most digital cameras that take traditional batteries do. Good idea is to go for the rechargeable batteries. It takes 4 AAA batteries. Another complaint is that it doesn't take quality pictures. Well, for a kids camera they should be very impressed with the quality. It is great for 4x6 prints. Anything bigger than that is going to be grainy.

Guitar Hero World Tour Review

With the success of Rock Band 2, the makers of Guitar Hero have released Guitar Hero World Tour. If you like the music based video games, you will love this one. The formula is the same: you use instruments to complete notes in hundreds of different songs. However, Guitar Hero has added the drums and a microphone to the mix.

And, this drum kit takes a step up from Rock Band by adding two cymbals to the mix. It only has three main pads versus the four in Rock Band though.

You can use your previous Guitar Hero guitars with the game, but you cannot use Rock Band instruments wit this game.

You can also buy the game without the instruments.

The product is getting pretty favorable reviews on the Internet. I can say from personal experience that there are duplicate songs on Rock Band and Guitar Hero World Tour, but they each have unique ones as well. Guitar Hero World Tour, however, does allow you to create your own tracks.

This is my favorite! Rock Band 2 by Harmonix will be on alot of video game addicts list this Christmas. I know it will be on mine

This is a wildly addicting and entertaining game that allows you to be a singer, or a guitar player or a drummer in your own virtual band. The complete kit comes with the video game, a guitar, a drum kit and a microphone. For those who own the first version of Rock Band, you can purchase the video game itself and use your current instruments.

There are dozens of hits that you can play from the 60s,70s,80s,90s, and 2000s. There are also many genres represented like Alternative, Pop, Folk and Rock.

The instruments in this game cannot be used with the Guitar Hero series. The exception may be the microphone, but I have not verified that.

The full Rock Band 2 kit sells at Wal-Mart for $189.

This Mattel D-Rex Interactive Dinosaur is one cool toy that any boy would love. Maybe some girls would like it too, but it is definitely marketed to the young boy crowd.

This little guy actually is being touted as being a pet. Now, I don't agree with that, but this thing responds to your voice and does all kinds of things that boys love.

He walks and bears his teeth and roars to let you know that he wants something. By taking care of D-Rex, talking with him and feeding him, your child becomes his master and D-Rex is very loyal. He will even guard your room with his fierce roar if you put him in guard mode.
